Review by Tiana Miller for Chris P. Cauley's new record "Stirrings"

"Chris P Cauley’s brand new EP “Stirrings” exonerates him from the pressure to follow his impressive music career as a multi-instrumentalist, soundman, producer and songwriter. The opening track “Guess It’s True” contrasts upbeat, poppy riffs with haunting vocal harmonies that are bound to leave any indie music fan lascivious for more. Immediately followed by the more emotional pop balled aptly titled “About Loving You” where his soulful crooning could sing even Morrissey to sleep. However if “About Loving You” is a lullaby the track that follows it, “What to Do” definitely serves as an alarm clock you actually won’t mind waking up to for once. Closed by the final descent back into a calming but ardent tribute to rock and roll as well as the lifestyle that accompanies it; “Velvet Head” finishes the album on a positively energizing note.

“Stirrings” can be found for free download on his website, ChrisPCauley.com. Blending genres and uniting them into powerful, soul shaking compositions with a DIY sound that has the raw ability to surprise you through art-deco subtleties. This EP is a tribute any indie rock historian, no matter how amateur, can appreciate. Introducing us to a carefully constructed home made Otic art that will have you sailing down the corridors of musical experience with an original yet familiar ease, Chris P Cauley’s EP is not to be neglected by any rock pack rat." ©Tiana Miller
